Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Another year has passed, and the entire Upper Milford Western District Fire Company would like to sincerely thank all who generously gave their time and resources, allowing us to serve our community for the 82nd year!
Since 1942, our volunteer organization has relied on the generosity of our neighbors who participate in our events and annual fund drive. Although we heavily pursue all available grant resources, and sincerely appreciate the 1.29% of property taxes that are contributed to the fire department each year by the Township, it is the kind generosity of our neighbors that allows us to continue protecting the residents, businesses, and property of Upper Milford Township’s Western District.
Did you know?
- We are a 100% volunteer organization, serving the community 24/7 without financial compensation.
- Only 1.29% of property taxes go to the fire company.
- The cost of equipment, gear, hoses, etc., has more than doubled in the past two years.
- Our primary tanker truck is over 30 years old and must be replaced at a cost of over $1.5 million.
- Originally built in 1951 and last renovated in 1969, our fire station is not tall enough to house modern equipment and is in desperate need of significant renovations or replacement.
27% of households currently contribute financially – our goal is to reach 50% this year!
The needs are greater than ever, yet we are confident in the generosity and community spirit of our residents to continue the 82-year legacy of our volunteer services for many years to come. Each additional participating household helps to ‘shoulder the load,’ representing a remarkable investment in the immense value of safeguarding our loved ones, homes, property, and businesses. Would you consider supporting our volunteers? We can’t do it without YOU!
